The animal on Firefox browser’s logo is red panda, not a fox

I mistakingly assumed that the animal displayed on the logotype of the world’s second best browser Firefox was a fox. Well, it certainly looks like a fox, but apparently it’s not a fox, but a red panda.

Here is a picture on the animal. In Chinese, “fire fox” is another name for red panda. It is said that Firefox browser is named after it.
